The StillPoint
Three Eras
A story told across seventy years of crisis, resistance, and what comes after.
2029–2036
The Cascade
Something breaks. Not all at once — first the jobs, then the meaning, then the silence where connection used to be. In the wreckage, someone builds a device that doesn't do anything faster. It just listens.
2037–2060
The Contested Stillness
Communities take root in the cracks. Couriers run supply lines across prairie trails. Data drive, seed packet, hope. The people who profit from the noise don't plan to let them stay.
2061–2095
The Emergence
The technology recedes into air. The old urgency fades. But a harder question is waiting — one that didn't come from us.
About the Project
Every culture that has ever existed found its way to stillness. Desert hermits counting breaths on a rope. Chan monks pouring tea until the steam matched their breathing. Quakers sitting in silence until the light moved someone to speak. A Hasidic nigun hummed under curfew. This is not new. This is the oldest thing we know.
The StillPoint Saga asks what happens when a species with that heritage — all of it, every tradition, every lineage — nearly forgets it. And what it looks like to remember. Three eras, spanning 2029 to 2095. Physicists and couriers, nine-year-olds and elders. Crisis, resistance, and the slow work of building something that isn't optimized for extraction.
