What a still point is
Everything that turns, turns around a point that holds still.
You already know several. The top of a breath, before it turns. The beat in a room after somebody says something true and nobody rushes to fill it. The half-second between reading the message and starting to type.
It isn't calm. Calm is a mood, and moods can't be scheduled. A still point is just a gap — small enough to fit inside five seconds, wide enough to stand in.
It isn't made, either. It's found. It was in you before there was a coin at all.
When you're stuck on a binary, one thing or the other, remember to be still, and maybe the third way will come to you.
None of this is new
Every culture that has ever existed found its own way here. Dervishes spinning until the spinning went still. Quakers sitting in silence until the light moved someone to speak. A farm kitchen gone quiet for grace. Not one tradition's property — closer to standard human equipment, arrived at independently, everywhere, for as long as there have been people.
Which means nothing was handed to you tonight. You were already carrying this. It just got crowded out — there is always something asking for the gap, and lately the things asking are very good at it.
So the coin doesn't supply anything. It reminds. That's the most an object this small could honestly claim to do.

The stories behind this, and this page itself, are written by a human and an AI working together — openly, from the first page, two years now. That's the project: between handing your thinking to the machines and refusing them outright, there has to be a third way, and the only honest way to look for it is in the open, where you can watch.
